Frequently asked questions.
Information for people exploring aesthetic care and professionals considering a BeautyJar membership.
Finding Care
What is BeautyJar?
BeautyJar is a directory for discovering licensed medical aesthetics providers by treatment, specialty and location. Each provider page brings together credentials, services, practice information and booking options in one clear place.
Is BeautyJar free for consumers?
Yes. BeautyJar is free to search and browse. Providers may join through a Profile or Spotlight membership.
Who is listed on BeautyJar?
BeautyJar lists licensed medical professionals who provide aesthetic treatments, including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and registered nurses. BeautyJar does not list non-medical professionals.
What does “Credential Checked” mean?
Before publication, selected professional credentials, such as active licensure, are checked against appropriate public licensing or registration sources. The credential status reflects the information available when the review was completed.
A Credential Checked designation does not constitute an endorsement, guarantee treatment quality or replace a consumer’s own evaluation of whether a provider is appropriate for their needs.
Does BeautyJar recommend or endorse providers?
No. BeautyJar provides information to support provider discovery. It does not recommend, rate or endorse providers.
Featured Provider indicates a paid Spotlight membership and is not a recommendation or quality rating. Coverage in The Edit is selected independently and cannot be purchased.
Consumers should independently evaluate a provider’s qualifications, services and suitability, including confirming current licensure with the appropriate licensing board.
How is provider information obtained?
All provider and practice information on BeautyJar is submitted by the provider or an authorized practice representative. BeautyJar does not create listings from third-party or publicly scraped data.
Before publication, selected credentials are checked through BeautyJar’s Credential Check. Providers are responsible for keeping their information accurate and current.
How do I contact or book with a provider?
Provider pages include a direct booking link, practice website, telephone number or other contact information. Appointments are made directly with the provider or practice, not through BeautyJar.
How can I report information that may be inaccurate?
Email hello@beautyjar.com with the subject line “Report: [Provider Name]” and include the provider’s page link and the information you believe may be inaccurate. BeautyJar will review the report and may contact the provider or consult appropriate public sources before making a change.
If your concern involves patient safety, professional conduct or licensing, please also contact the appropriate licensing board. BeautyJar does not investigate clinical complaints.
For Providers
Who can join BeautyJar?
BeautyJar accepts licensed medical professionals who provide aesthetic treatments, including physicians (MD/DO), nurse practitioners, physician assistants and registered nurses. Each provider must hold an active license and provide services within the scope permitted in the jurisdiction where they practice.
International providers may be accepted from jurisdictions with publicly accessible medical and nursing registers that allow BeautyJar to verify active licensure.
Is BeautyJar a lead-generation service?
No. BeautyJar is a provider directory. Membership provides a professional page with a Credential Check and inclusion in BeautyJar’s provider discovery. BeautyJar does not charge per lead, sell leads or take a share of bookings. Patients contact and book with your practice directly.
What does a BeautyJar membership provide?
BeautyJar gives medical aesthetics providers a dedicated, professional page that helps prospective patients understand who they are, what they offer and how to connect with their practice.
Provider pages can include credentials, services, practice details, professional images and a direct booking link, and they’re discoverable by treatment, specialty and location. Every page is also yours to share: link to it from your website, social media bio or email signature.
Before publication, selected credentials are checked through BeautyJar’s Credential Check and rechecked at least once a year.
Editorial coverage in The Edit is selected independently and is not included with or purchased through either membership.
What is the difference between Profile and Spotlight?
Profile is $79/month and includes a searchable professional page with a portrait, biography, education and credentials, Credential Check, credential explanations, treatments and optional starting prices, new-patient and virtual consultation status, languages, experience, consultation fees, medical director where applicable, practice locations, optional payment and financing information, and direct booking and practice website links.
Spotlight is $149/month and includes everything in Profile, plus a Featured Provider designation identified as paid membership, placement in relevant treatment categories, a rotating home page feature, and up to two optional videos: provider introduction and inside the practice. It also includes an expanded biography and professional approach, detailed professional focus, expanded treatments and practice gallery, Provider Q&A, optional provider-reported aesthetic training, optional practice team links, professional writing and press links, a Medium feature and HerNewsWire mention, and BeautyJar social features identified as Spotlight content.
Starting prices are provider-reported, may change and are not a treatment quote. Confirm current pricing directly with the provider.
Featured Provider indicates a paid Spotlight membership, not an endorsement or quality rating. Editorial coverage in The Edit is selected independently and cannot be purchased.
Is membership for an individual provider or an entire practice?
Each membership represents one individual provider. If several eligible professionals work at the same practice, each provider requires a separate membership. Their pages may reference the same practice, location and booking information.
What happens after I purchase a membership?
After payment, you’ll receive a link to submit your credentials, practice information, written content and images. Spotlight members also receive a separate video upload link and video guidelines.
BeautyJar reviews your information, prepares your page and sends a private preview for factual review before publication. If BeautyJar cannot approve your listing, your membership will be cancelled and your initial payment refunded.
What information will I need to submit?
Your professional credentials and license details, biography, services, portrait, practice locations, contact information and booking link. You can also provide new-patient status, virtual consultation availability, languages, years in aesthetics, consultation fees, starting prices, payment options and medical director information where applicable.
Spotlight members can additionally supply an expanded professional story, gallery images, Provider Q&A, training, team information and published-work links. Up to two videos are optional and are submitted through a separate upload link.
How long does it take for my page to be published?
Page preparation begins after BeautyJar receives your completed submission and the information needed for review. Timing depends on the completeness of your submission and whether additional information is needed.
Will I review my page before it is published?
Yes. BeautyJar sends a private preview so you can review factual information before publication.
How long will my Profile or Spotlight remain published?
Your page remains published while your membership is active and your information continues to meet BeautyJar’s listing requirements, including an active professional license.
If you cancel, your page stays live through the end of your current billing period and is then removed. If a payment fails, we’ll contact you before your page is unpublished. If a license is no longer active or listing requirements are no longer met, the page may be unpublished while the information is reviewed.
How often is my information reviewed?
BeautyJar reviews your information before publication and rechecks selected credentials at least once a year. Please notify BeautyJar when your license, practice location, services or other published information changes.
Can I update my page after publication?
Yes. Email hello@beautyjar.com with the changes you’d like to make to your credentials, services, location, booking details, biography or images. BeautyJar may review supporting information before publishing certain changes.
Can I upgrade from Profile to Spotlight?
Yes. BeautyJar will request the additional content needed for your expanded Spotlight page. You may supply gallery images, Provider Q&A, professional background, team information and optional videos.
Can I share my BeautyJar page?
Yes. Every published provider receives a dedicated page link to share through their website, social media, email signature and professional materials.
Can BeautyJar edit my submitted biography?
BeautyJar may edit submitted content for clarity, length, formatting and consistency without changing its factual meaning. You’ll review the final version in your private preview before publication.
Who owns the photographs and materials I submit?
You retain ownership of your submitted materials and authorize BeautyJar to use them for your listing and related BeautyJar promotion. You must own or have permission to publish the photographs, videos, audio, logos and written materials you submit.
For videos and images showing other people, including patients, confirm that you have permission for publication on BeautyJar.
Does BeautyJar guarantee appointments or leads?
No. Membership provides a professional page with a Credential Check and inclusion in BeautyJar’s provider discovery. It does not guarantee inquiries, appointments or leads.
What happens if BeautyJar cannot approve my listing?
If BeautyJar cannot approve your paid listing, your membership will be cancelled and your initial payment refunded.
How do I cancel my membership?
Email hello@beautyjar.com to cancel. Your page stays live through the end of your current billing period and is then removed.
What happens if I change practices?
Notify BeautyJar before or promptly after the change. Once the new practice details are confirmed, your page will be updated.
Do I have to submit a video?
No. Video is optional and available with Spotlight only. You may provide an introduction, an inside-the-practice video, both or neither. Sections without video are omitted so your page remains complete.
Can I use an existing practice video?
Yes, if you have permission to publish the footage and audio on BeautyJar. Submit the original file through the separate upload link and review the video guidelines. Horizontal and vertical videos are welcome. Do not assume permission to use music on a social platform also covers publication on BeautyJar.
How do I submit my Spotlight videos?
Use the separate video upload link in your onboarding email rather than attaching large files to the provider submission form. Include your provider name, practice, intended placement and video orientation. Send captions or a transcript when available. BeautyJar reviews videos before publication.
Are starting prices and financing information required?
No. Starting prices, payment methods and financing information are optional. These sections appear when supplied by the provider or practice. Starting prices are informational; final costs depend on the provider’s treatment plan.
Can my page show multiple practice locations?
Yes. Both Profile and Spotlight support multiple locations where you provide services. Include the relevant address, contact information and booking details for each location.
Can Spotlight link to other providers at my practice?
Yes. Spotlight can include an optional practice-team section with links to team members who have their own BeautyJar provider pages. Each listed provider requires a separate membership and must meet the listing requirements.
Are the sample providers real?
No. Sample pages use fictional providers and illustrative practice details, prices and credentials to demonstrate the memberships. A sample Credential Checked badge does not claim that a credential check was completed for that fictional provider. The sample intro-video still is a preview, not a playable provider video.
